...Creating healthy living spaces
Lighthouse Communities Construction Services Department is playing a part in the work of revitalizing neighborhoods. Along side of the efforts of many others in our community we hope to improve the quality of life for families and children living here. We view our work as an opportunity to help make a difference, create jobs and build the skills and capacity of local contractors.
Construction Services has facilitated a significant number of single and multi family housing rehabilitation projects in the city of Grand Rapids since 2002. Through a variety of programs, Lighthouse Communities has rehabilitated over 500 homes for families and individuals in our community.
With the expansion of services to Kent County, our department will be working in cities like Kentwood, Wyoming and Lowell to help expand housing opportunities in these areas.
Over the years, we have built a network of quality contractors to work with us, but that network needs to expand. Contractors who are interested in participating in the work Lighthouse is doing can begin by filling out our Contractor Data sheet and submitting a portfolio of some of the recent work you have done. It will also be helpful for you to read our Contractor Handbook to understand the details of how we work.
*Construction Services has been an active partner in the Get The Lead Out Collaborative working with the City of Grand Rapids Rehab Office, Home Repair Services, Healthy Homes Coalition, Rental Property Owners Association, and individual Home Owners who share a common goal of providing a lead safe environment for children in Grand Rapids.
