Foreclosure Prevention Counseling

Across the country states have experienced increases in mortgage foreclosure.  What are the causes? Some of the reasons are loss of a job and a serious illness. Combined with mortgage companies with predatory lending practices and adjustable rate mortgages some homeowners are unable to make the monthly mortgage payments.

Lighthouse has a foreclosure prevention counselor available in our Office.  This counselor works with area residents to help them avoid foreclosure when possible or minimize losses when it is not preventable. 

Counselors can help you:

• Create a spending and savings plan
• Manage debt
• Avoid foreclosure
