Lead Remediation Program
Lighthouse administers a Lead Remediation program in cooperation with the City of Grand Rapids and Get The Lead Out/Healthy Homes Coalitionfor the removal of hazardous lead paint from homes and apartments. This is a multi-agency collaborative to help protect children, families and their homes. This mix of partners illustrates the broad support that exists for this program as well as the overall commitment within Grand Rapids to eliminate the problem of childhood lead poisoning.
Eligible property owners will be able to receive up to $12,000 per unit with repayment requirements being dependent upon ownership and property type. We have a full time lead specialist on staff to assist with lead projects citywide. If your home was built before 1978 and you believe lead-based paint was used in your home, please contact us at (616) 451-9140 or visit the City's Lead Hazard Control Program page for more details.
