First NSP Open Houses in Grand Rapids & Kentwood
On December 9, 2009, Lighthouse Communities hosted its first NSP open houses at 2291 Embro Drive SE, Kentwood, MI and 1727 Giddings SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49507.
Lighthouse Communities Executive Director Jeremy DeRoo said “We’re excited about giving the community an opportunity to see the growth and modernization that we’ve been talking about for the past year,”. “Our visitors will surely have high expectations for our projects, and they are not going to be disappointed.”
The NSP or neighborhood stabilization program was created to allow communities the opportunity to transform foreclosed vacant properties into renovated, occupied homes. Projects are supported with funds from the Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008. The program is available to families and individuals with incomes of up to 120% AMI in eligible areas throughout Kent County.
