Ana Aguilar Doonan

Ana is a native of Venezuela and came to Lighthouse in the spring of 2006 as an intern through Grand Valley State University's public administration graduate program.  Her internship soon transitioned into her job as the Grants Administrator for the organization and today she provides management and leadership in various capacities for Lighthouse, including fund development, grant compliance, media relations and communications, as well as co-overseeing the Neighborhood Services and Commercial Services departments of Lighthouse.

Ana brings a combination of volunteer work, government and nonprofit experience gathered through her career and community involvement both in Venezuela and the United States, including international cooperation, community development, civic activism, and institutional reform.  She completed graduate studies at Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant, MI and some level of doctoral studies in political science at the Central University of Venezuela.

Ana is also part of the Executive Team at Lighthouse.  Ana oversees our AmeriCorps members and interns and plays other roles, many times behind the scenes.  A typical day for Ana is about writing, tracking down information and working closely with Jeremy, Darel and Venessa on several aspects of the organization.
